WHAT ARE WE CHASING:

With the 2026 TOPPS Chrome Formula 1 Racing Cards, Topps is accompanying the current season of motorsport’s premier class for the seventh time. For the first time, Formula 1 fans can look forward to one guaranteed autograph card per Hobby Box.

With the 2026 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Racing Cards, the Formula 1 Chrome series enters its seventh season since the launch of the line. Collectors can expect the familiar structure from previous years, with a broad range of parallels, numerous insert categories and autograph cards from several racing series. Alongside the current Formula 1 driver lineup, which has grown to 22 drivers and 11 teams this year, drivers from Formula 2 and Formula 3 are once again included, joined by team principals and legends of the sport. Good news for collectors: Every Hobby Box in the collection now contains one guaranteed autograph card.

The BASE SET of the 2026 TOPPS Chrome F1 collection consists of 200 cards and covers not only the Formula 1 racing series, but also takes a look at the classes featuring the up-and-coming drivers. As in previous years, the Base Set is divided into 12 smaller subsets. Alongside categories for drivers from Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3, these also include Formula 1 cars, team principals, team logos, team duos and former drivers. Further themed subgroups feature cards dedicated to the Grand Prix winners of the 2025 season, the fan-voted Driver of the Day winners from the previous season and the F1 Award Winners. The Base Set therefore combines classic driver portraits with cards highlighting specific achievements and events from the previous season.

As is customary with Topps Chrome collections, the parallel variants make up a significant part of the collection. Alongside four unnumbered variants, three of which can only be found exclusively in one specific product from the collection, around 40 numbered variants are waiting to be pulled by collectors from packs. These also include the four Printing Plates that exist for each card, numbered 1/1, which were used in the production of the cards. New for 2026 are the Full Grid Parallels, numbered to /22 to match the size of the Formula 1 driver lineup.

For the inserts, Topps combines familiar categories with new designs. Returning categories include the SPEED WHEELS inserts, which are based on the original Topps Speed Wheels series from 1975 and adapt its design to current Formula 1 imagery. The AUSTIN TO MEXICO CITY inserts focus on the back-to-back race weekends in Austin and Mexico City and use design elements inspired by the culture and visual language of the two host locations. Other more common inserts include the HELMET COLLECTION inserts known from the previous year, now featuring additional Image Variations, the new DANCING IN THE RAIN inserts and the WOMEN OF THE PADDOCK inserts, which have not yet been included in the checklist.

SUIT UP and HOME STRAIGHT are two additional insert categories whose cards can only be found in the two retail formats, Value Blaster Box and Mega Box.

There is also a range of rarer inserts in the Case Hit category: FUTURO focuses on young drivers and upcoming names in the sport, while GENESIS draws on familiar Formula 1 TV and broadcast imagery in its design. ANIME presents the drivers in a manga or anime-inspired style, while the ART DU GRAND PRIX inserts, found only in Mega & Blaster boxes, use a design inspired by classic Grand Prix posters.

Among the particularly rare inserts are the HELIX inserts known from other Chrome series and the THE GRID inserts, which combine driver and car imagery with the respective team colors. The ABU DHABI AT NIGHT inserts capture the atmosphere of the night race in Abu Dhabi and are also among the rarest inserts in the collection.

The collection’s special chase cards also include the The Grail inserts. A total of 9 cards centered around the three highest-placed drivers from the previous season are available to collect as part of this cross-collection program. Three of these nine cards are included in the Hobby Box of this collection, with the remaining cards set to follow in other collections for the current season.

The number of autograph cards has been significantly expanded compared with previous years. For Hobby collectors, the most important change is the guaranteed autograph card: Every Hobby Box now contains one Chrome autograph card, which was not guaranteed in previous years.

The collection is also expected to include On-Card autograph cards from Formula 1 drivers, although Topps has not yet revealed the exact number.

Further themed autograph categories include the new VUELTA 1 AUTOGRAPHS, which use Spanish tile patterns as a design element and thereby reference the Grand Prix in Madrid. The FUTURO AUTOGRAPHS focus on younger or up-and-coming drivers, while the PODIUM TRIPLE AUTOGRAPHS, featuring three signatures, are among the special highlights of the collection.

The Autograph Relics section consists of just a single card, but it is one of the most important in the entire collection: the F1 DEBUT PATCH AUTOGRAPH RELIC card of rookie Arvid Lindblad, numbered 1/1, which combines a debut patch with Lindblad’s autograph.
